# Real Art Network

> Real Art Network is the art marketplace built into World App — where proof of authorship, not just ownership, is written into the file itself.

Real Art Network is a marketplace for human-made artwork, built as a mini app inside World App (the Worldcoin / Tools for Humanity mobile application). Artists register their work to receive a permanent timestamped proof of creation and an adversarial AI-protection layer called Ring Guard, packaged into a proprietary `.rng` Ring file format that travels with the artwork. The platform uses tiered World ID credentials: Selfie Check is a medium-assurance liveness and anti-abuse check that does not prove every account belongs to a unique person, while Orb verification is the higher-assurance proof-of-human option. Real Art Network does not receive biometrics.

Current state: live in beta, available in 12 languages, with artists actively creating Ring files.

## For World App users

Real Art Network is a World App mini app. Anyone who already has an eligible World ID credential (device-level, Selfie Check, or Orb-verified) can join immediately using their existing identity — no separate signup, no new wallet required. The World App wallet handles payments natively in WLD and other supported tokens.

Orb-verified users receive reduced marketplace fees as recognition of the higher identity assurance they provide.

## Ring Guard — AI protection

Ring Guard applies adversarial perturbation to registered images: pixel-level modifications invisible to the human eye that are designed to interfere with how AI vision models process and learn from images. This is the same technical category as Glaze (University of Chicago), Nightshade (University of Chicago), and PhotoGuard (MIT) — peer-reviewed research tools with documented effectiveness against AI style extraction.

What Ring Guard targets: AI training pipelines that ingest images at scale, style-extraction models, automated scraping for model training.
What Ring Guard does not stop: device screenshots, manual copying, or scrapers that do not use AI processing.
Honest limit: adversarial protection is an active arms race. Effectiveness can diminish as AI training methods evolve. No tool in this category — including the established research tools above — offers permanent unconditional guarantees.

As a World Mini App, Real Art Network cannot enforce OS-level screenshot blocking on a user's device. The app uses content deterrence, temporarily blurs protected artwork when the app loses focus, and may report suspected capture activity; it does not provide a zero-screenshot guarantee.

## What a Ring is

A Ring is the registered record of an artwork on the platform. It includes: a permanent timestamped proof of registration, the Ring Guard protection layer, a scannable QR and short public code for verification, and an optional public marketplace listing. The registered file uses the proprietary `.rng` format — a container that bundles the proof, protection layer, and verification data into a single portable file. A Ring proves that a specific image was registered by a specific account at a specific time — it does not independently prove original authorship.

## Fees and business model

Creating an account and registering artwork is free. The platform charges a marketplace fee on sales: **10% for device-level World ID holders, 7% for Orb-verified World ID holders**. The same rates apply to resale royalties. Transactions use WLD or other supported tokens via the World App wallet. No prior crypto experience is required to join.
